Bellator MMA’s upcoming event in Paris has undergone some significant changes recently. Originally scheduled to feature a title bout between Usman Nurmagomedov and Alexander Shabliy, the event will now see Nurmagomedov withdrawing from the fight due to an unspecified injury. This has led to Patchy Mix’s bantamweight title defense against Magomed Magomedov being elevated to the headline spot for Bellator Champions Series: Paris at Accor Arena.

For undefeated lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov, this event was supposed to mark his comeback after a six-month suspension. The suspension was a result of testing positive last October for a prescription drug that contained a banned substance. While his bout against Alexander Shabliy will be rebooked for a later date, fans will have to wait to see Nurmagomedov back in action.

One of the most exciting additions to the fight card is the Bellator debut of Cedric Doumbe, a former two-time Glory kickboxing champion from France. Originally set to face Derek Anderson, Doumbe’s opponent is still to be determined after Anderson’s withdrawal due to a foot injury from a bike accident. Doumbe, who has a record of 5-1, has already made a mark in PFL Europe with a quick knockout victory last September and a recent TKO loss after sustaining an injury.

Despite the changes and alterations to the fight card, Bellator Champions Series: Paris promises to deliver an action-packed event for MMA fans. With the headline bout now featuring Patchy Mix defending his bantamweight title against Magomed Magomedov and the highly anticipated debut of Cedric Doumbe, there is no shortage of excitement surrounding the upcoming event. As the fighters prepare to showcase their skills in the Accor Arena, fans can expect a night filled with intense matchups and memorable moments in the world of MMA.
