Sixers coach Nick Nurse is optimistic about the possibility of Joel Embiid returning to the court before the end of the regular season. Despite being sidelined since January 30th due to a knee injury, Nurse believes that there is a good likelihood of Embiid making a comeback before the play-in playoffs.

With Embiid out of the lineup, the 76ers have struggled, going 10-16 in his absence. This has caused the team to fall into the play-in tournament mix in the Eastern Conference standings. However, if Embiid, who was leading the league in scoring before his injury, is able to return in the next 10 games, the Sixers’ fortunes could quickly change.

Embiid underwent surgery for a lateral meniscus injury in his left knee seven weeks ago. While there is no set timetable for his return, Nurse mentioned that Embiid is actively engaged in on-court workouts. The focus now is on building strength, confidence, and conditioning before making a comeback.
Nurse stated that he has been in touch with Embiid through FaceTime and that the star player is gradually improving each day. Nurse is looking forward to providing an update once Embiid progresses to contact practices as part of his return protocol.

Before the recent stretch of games, ESPN’s Basketball Power Index projected the Sixers to finish eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. Philadelphia has a record of 26-8 when Embiid is on the court and a record of 13-25 when he is sidelined.

The Sixers are anxiously awaiting the return of their star player, Joel Embiid. The team’s success and playoff aspirations largely depend on Embiid’s availability and performance on the court. As the regular season winds down, all eyes are on Embiid’s recovery progress and the potential impact of his return on the team’s fortunes in the postseason.
